Photocopies of a handwritten and signed "testimony" and a handwritten and signed financial note. The testimony describes a transaction of money for certain lots owned by Boggs. The note is a promise by Boggs to pay William Smith a sum of money.

Photocopies of handwritten court proceedings of cases tried in Daviess County and Boone County, Missouri. The trials relate to Joseph Smith (1805-1844), the first president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and others being tried for treason; the trial of Parley P. Pratt (1807-1857), an apostle of the Church, for murder; testimony against Caleb Baldwin; and testimony against King Follet on charges of robbery. Dated 1839.

It testifies that George Phillips is a Justice of the Peace for the County of Suffolk. On the inside of this item, and connected to it by the Seal of the Commonwealth, is an affidavit signed by Harrison Gray and George Phillips and intended for the St. Louis, Mo. Court. Handwritten autobiography, will, and testimony to the veracity of the Mormon Church. Also included are photocopies and typescripts of these items. Leany was a convert to the Mormon Church who moved to Missouri in 1836. He was present at the Haun's Mill Massacre. He moved to Nauvoo, Illinois and later migrated to Utah living in Parowan and Harrisburg.

Microfilmed copies of original joint legislative committee journals (1838-1839), legislative proceedings (1838-1841), correspondence and orders (1838-1839), evidence given at the court of inquiry held in November 1838 to investigate Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and others for high treason, and certificates dealing with indictments against Mormons (1841) pertaining to the Mormon disturbances in Missouri (1838-1841). The film is 16 mm. and 35 mm. and is photonegative.
