This collection contains correspondence, reports, documents, and passenger lists of ships of the Perpetual Emigrating Fund Company. The first folder contains an index of the collection.

This collection contains material from the life of Edward Hunter Snow and covers the years 1878-1932. These materials are in addition to other materials previously acquired by BYU.

Scope and Contents This collection includes family correspondence, autobiographical and biographical material of Edward H. Snow, journals, notebooks, documents, and miscellaneous papers. There are also newspaper clippings and published materials about Snow, as well as several photographs of Snow family members. Scope and Contents Collection contains materials relating to the family temple work of Erastus Snow and Artemisia Beman Snow. Materials include five volumes of records of Mormon temple ordinances performed by and for the Erastus and Artemisia Beman Snow family between 1884 and 1930. Volumes include three volumes of "Temple Record" books and one untitled temple record book, for the Beman side of the family; one "Record of the Dead" book kept by Erastus Snow for the Snow side of the family; and one "L.D.S....

Scope and Contents

Handwritten correspondnece with photocopies and an autbiography. The materials include correspondence between Snow and his family, 1847-1887, a report on the possibilities of Mormons settling in the Gila River Valley of Arizona and in Mexico, and an autobiography dictated to Snow's son, Franklin Snow. In the autobiography Erastus Snow tells about his work in the settling of St. George, Utah.

Content Description Handwritten letter sent by Erastus Snow to James McGaw. Letter is signed for Erastus Snow by James M. Brown and sent from St. Louis, Missouri. This letter discusses the passage of Latter-day Saint member James Mather and his family from Liverpool, England to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1855. Elder James M. Brown, writing for Apostle Erastus Snow, sent this receipt and order to Elder James McGaw in Atchison, Kansas Territory to supply Mather with wagons and oxen for the overland trip to Utah....

Photocopies of handwritten diaries from about 1836 to 1857, a notebook from 1848, correspondence from 1847 to 1888, financial papers from 1855 to 1883, miscellaneous items from 1840 to 1879, and copy of a revelation given in 1836 which is now found in Doctrine and Covenants, Sec. 111. The materials relate to Snow's finances and activities.
