Petition addressed "To the Honorable the Legislature of the State, State of New York," asking them to establish the Town of Lodi because of uncomfortable population density. The "petitioners believ[e] they will be better accommodated for by a division of said Town." December 1825. 5 photocopied pages long, including 4 pages of signatures. Yellow cover sheet including record of legislation to establish the town of Lodi, 27 January 1826.

The materials were an attempt to get redress for their grievences, especially relating to their expulsion from Missouri in 1839. The items were acquired from the National Archives and Record Service in Washington, D.C.
