About the McGregor family's folkstories and traditions as they've been created or passed down, especially from the Mormon pioneer times. Contains an autobiographical sketch, biography of the McGregor's, a cover essay and the items provided by the McGregor's.

Scope and Contents note Collection of camp fire songs sung at Latter-day Saint girl's camp. Girl's camp is a yearly summer retreat organized by the member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for young women in between the ages of 12 and 18. In analyzing the songs Jordan came to the conclusion that many of the songs reflect Latter-day Saint vales and traditions as well as common teenager concerns including boys and self-image. John collected folklore surrounding each part of a family vacation. Included are stories about the planning, travel, side-trips, final destination, and returning home. The project was written for an English 392 class taught by Dr. Rudy at Brigham Young University in 2009.

A collection of narratives about the author's grandmother Lavern Rahlf. The themes present in the stories are the grandmother's unique discipline and her strict style in motherhood. The author also notes how important the father was to the cycle of stories, with the three groups of stories coming from the three fathers the children had. Describes why missionaries qualify as a folk group, while explaining that many people outside of the group can identify with missionary experiences and emotions. This project is a collection of family Christmas traditions, stories, and recipes. The collector gives background about her family, including family history and pedigree, and discusses how many of these traditions are perpetuated in the family. Traditions include Christmas morning rituals, recipes, Mormon missionary Christmas, rice balls, and the future of these traditions. Flanders collected traditions from Vietnamese New Year in an effort to celebrate a culture she was very interested in Included are superstitions, images, songs, and horoscopes. Project was created for Dr. Eliason's English 391 course taught at Brigham Young University in 2000.

Abbott collected narratives from men and women about their memories of childbirth. Included are memories of giving birth to a baby that died, a woman on bed rest for four months, and a baby delivered by Caesarian section. The project was written for an English 391 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.

Bickel collected a narrative from her mother, Chantal P. Thompson, describing her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Included are stories of Chantal's experiences with religion prior to her conversion, her meetings with the missionaries, and the opposition she faced from her family at joining the church. The project was collected for an English 655 class taught at Brigham Young University in 1997.
