Scope and Contents Handwritten letters all addressed to Cardinal Rodolfo Pio da Carpi, legate of the marquisate of Ancona (200 items). Most of the items deal with religious and political issues relating to the Council of Trent (1545-1563). The items are by various persons including those who were in important in the politics of the time.

Scope and Contents Thirty-three handwritten records. The items are largely in Latin with some Greek references. The materials relate to the politics, internal matters, theological controversies, and censorship in the Catholic Church. The items date mainly from the last quarter of the sixteenth to the first quarter of the seventeenth centuries. Also included are references to important earlier events such as the Council of Trent. Many of the items relate to restricting certian works from being read.
