Consists of three separate manuscripts: "Religious Experiences of Thomas Walter Brookbank," "Travels and Threads of Experience," and "A Soldier's Recollections." These autobiographies recount the author's early life and conversion to Mormonism, his experiences in the Civil War (1861-1865), life in Utah and the Mormon settlements in eastern Arizona, and missionary activities in New Mexico, Texas, Mexico, and Great Britain.

Photocopy of a handwritten notebook. The item includes reminiscent accounts collected by Cox from elderly people who knew Joseph Smith. Much of the information comes from family stories. The date of the materials is uncertain, perhaps near the end of the nineteenth century.

Artemisia Sidnie Myers Foote reminiscences

Scope and Contents

Artemisia accompanied her mother to the site of the "Haun's Mill Massacre" of 1838 shortly after the incident. Two of her brothers were wounded in that affair. She describes what she saw of the dead and wounded and also tells how she felt at the time. She also quotes what her brother, George Myers, said of the experience of being wounded in the incident.

A glimpse of the spirit world

Photocopies of a holograph document. Washburn suffered the loss of three family members including his wife in 1921. Shortly thereafter he was taken ill with influenza, and his deceased wife came to visit him from the spirit world. She assured him she and all their dead children were productive and happy. Washburn relates what she said and what he saw of the spirit world.

O. T. Hanks reminiscences
