The journals describe Ajax's activities as a missionary for the Mormon Church in England and Wales and include some newspaper clippings, part of which are from the Udgorn Seion, the Mormon publication in Wales. This collection contains the 1881 diary of John Q. Cannon, including a typescript, the agenda book of John Q. Cannon (though written in by Annie Wells Cannon), a talk titled, "Spirituality in the Sunday School, and two portraits of John Q. Cannon and George Q. Cannon.

Materials include Hester Telle Richards diary which she started in 1886 when she was eighteen and apparently living in Monroe, Utah and kept it in August and September of that year. Also included are miscellaneous notes and observations including class notes from a geography course. Dated 1886-1901.

Individuals mentioned in the journal include Legrand Young, Charles Zane, George Q. Cannon and others. An accompanying typescript of the journal, prepared by Glenda Breslin in 1995, includes photocopies of legal documents concerning Tovey's case. The typescript also includes a name index.
