Margaret Clayton interview

Sound tape reel and transcript of an oral interview with Margaret Clayton by Dennis Rowley and John Bluth held on 17 Nov. 1977 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Margaret was a granddaughter of the Mormon Church leader George Q. Cannon and tells of her recollections of the man and his activities. She also tells about the Cannon family.

Scope and Contents

Contains two CD copies of a radio transcription disk made by the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. The first CD contains two broadcasts: track one is a broadcast of the Salt Lake City Tabernacle Choir from November 9, 1958 (RED 586), and track two is an excerpt from a speech by Cecil B. DeMille on the Ten Commandments given at the University of Southern California and distributed by the Trojan Digest program (IED 626). The second CD contains only the address by DeMille.

Don C. Conley oral histories for The Pioneer Chinese of Utah

Collection includes twelve sound reels containing interviews of either descendants of early settlers in the Utah Territory, such as Wallace Clay, or Utah historians, like Juanita Brooks. The interviews are oral histories that were used as part of Conley's master's thesis, published in 1976. Each reel includes one person's story, with the exception of reel number nine, which contains two interviews. Dated 1974-1975.
