William R. Palmer radio programs
Typewritten transcripts with handwritten corrections of the included cassette sound tapes. Palmer gave weekly addresses at KSUB in Cedar City, Utah. Topics include the history of Iron County, Utah, early Mormons in the area, Indians of the area, and the early history of Utah.
Orlando W. Powers address
A 30-page typed lecture given by Utah Judge, Orlando W. (O.W.) Powers, on "The Old Fashioned Woman" in, approximately, the year 1897. He states that his purpose in this lecture was to identify the virtues in the Mothers of Israel, and throughout it praises those characteristics comparatively to the modern women. A label on a back panel is assumed to be written by the collector, Isaac Brockbank, Jr.
Recollections of Ernest L. Wilkinson
Includes a tribute to Wilkinson; an address to the Provo Ladies Literary Club, 15 March 1978; and a cover letter, 7 December 2000, to University Archivist at BYU. All items focus on her work with Ernest L. Wilkinson and on details of his life.
Preston D. Richards papers
The collection consists of papers regarding the life of Preston D. Richards. The collection has correspondence, newspaper clippings, certificates, photographs and other papers. It specifically deals with his life in terms of his business, church, and personal relations. The collection dates 1894-1970.
Alita Marcucci Schultz servicemen's wives speech
Mimeographed copy of a typescript. This was an address given by Mrs. Schultz at the Norfolk Virginia Stake Conference 9 Oct. 1977. It is advice for navy wives when their husbands are on sea duty. They should live the principles of the Mormon Church which will strengthen them. Also included is a brief autobiography of Mrs. Schultz.
J. M. Smith speech
Handwritten speech intended to commemorate a Fourth of July celebration in the United States. Smith writes about the creation of the United States and its growth as a nation. He also tells of the evils of alcohol consumption. The item was signed "J. M. S." who is believed to have been J. M. Smith.
Joseph Stinger funeral service
Audio recording and memorial book from Joseph Stinger's funeral in Pocatello, Idaho. Book accompanied by program, condolence cards, and signatures of funeral attendees.
A tribute to Dr. Jesse J. Weight
Typewritten copy of a speech delivered at the funeral services of Jesse J. Weight on 23 May 1970. Also included are two brief, typewritten biographies of Weight. Weight was a physician who had a private practice in Provo, Utah. He also worked at the Utah State Hospital in Provo and taught for a time at Brigham Young University.
Weir family papers
Contains the papers of various members of the Weir family, including Robert Walter Weir (1803-1889), John F. Weir (1841-1926), and Julian Alden Weir (1852-1919). Contains correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, manuscripts, speeches, artwork, clippings, and published material relating to the family, dating from between 1765 to 1929. The bulk of the collection relates to Julian Alden Weir.
Kenneth Dale Wells papers
Kenneth D. Wells autobiographical files contain personal papers, research, and photographs and materials dealing with Ken and Ruth's work with the Family Foundation in El Salvador, as well as with the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.
