Scope and Contents Handwritten and typewritten correspondence, histories, biographies, genealogical group sheets, patriarchal blessings, diaries, and land indentures in Idaho. The correspondence are between Purnell, her husband, and other relatives and deal largely with family matters. One of the letters is an account of the Battle of Bear River in 1863 by an observer. Photocopies of handwritten letters addressed to Reynolds' wife Amelia. These items were written when Reynolds was in the Utah territorial penitentary for polygamy. Reynolds writes about conditions in the prison and of his desires to receive visitors.

George Reynolds letters

Handwritten and signed letters to his wife, Amelia. Twenty-eight itmes were written from 1879-1881 in the Utah Peniteniary while Reynolds was serving a two-year sentence for polygamy. Reynolds tells about prison life, reaffirms his dedication to the Mormon faith, and discusses family matters.

Typewritten condensation of an autobiography and a diary. The item was shortened by Robinson's granddaughter, Rena Robinson Cutler. Joseph Robinson writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church in 1836, his migration to Utah in 1848, his opinions of the Mormon doctrine of polygamy, and his settling in Weber County, Utah.
