Joseph W. Booth diaries and poems

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries and poems. These journals were kept from 1885 to 1928 when Booth was in Alpine, Utah, at the Brigham Young Academy in Provo, Utah, and in Turkey and Armenia as a missionary and as mission president.

The items include personal history documents (1853-1903), stories and poems (1824-1887), journals (1849-1884), photographic material (1850-1906), correspondence (1849-1878), and a scrapbook of obituaries and published articles by and about John Lyon.

Sarah A. Reynolds poetry

Anna Prince Redd poems

Scope and Contents Two typewritten poems and one handwritten letter by Anna Prince Redd. The letter is addressed to "Mrs. Hart" and deals with Redd's feelings for Hart as well as with her plans to publish a few books of poetry about the desert and Native Americans. The poems are entitled "Deseret Interim" and "Penelope and I."

Springville March 19 hundred and froze to death

Scope and Contents Poem written in a letter to Moses's wife, Olive H. Huntington Childs. The poem explains that inclement weather kept him from reaching Heber City, Utah, from Springville, Utah. He has been late in planting and they will not have a wheat crop. The item is written in a humorous style.
