Orson Scott Card papers

Also included are scripts and other materials pertaining to the production of the 1989 motion picture The abyss (directed by James Cameron), which Card used to write the novel of the same name.

Scope and Contents Correspondence, legal documents, genealogy, memorabilia, poetry, and literary manuscripts of Warren Angus Ferris (1810-1873); his mother, Sarah Gray Ferris Lovejoy (1785-1964); stepfather, Joshua Lovejoy (1771-1824); brother-in-law, American painter Lars Gustaf Sellstedt; and other family members. Includes also papers and correspondence regarding W.A. Ferris and his work by Walter McCausland and Fred Rosenstock.

Helen Hunt Jackson papers

Scope and Contents Handwritten and signed letters, poem, and manuscripts. The letters deal with personal and business matters. The manuscripts are leather bound holographs of Jackson's works "Christmas in the Pink Boarding House," "Passion Play at Oberammergau," "The People's Choice," and "Parson Williams Sabbath Breaking." Also included are a signed poem titled "Lifted Over," and a book by Jackson titled "Colorado." Also includes an image of Helen Hunt Jackson.

Scope and Contents Materials include Miscellanies in Prose and Verse, a manuscript written by Abraham Orchard in 1780 in Bath, England. In the preface Orchard reflects on his experiences with sin, repentence, religion, and God. The rest of the manuscript contains poetry, prose, songs, and prayers about marriage, daily life, children, nature, and religion. Only part of the book is filled up and there is a note written by someone else stating when Orchard died. There is no cover on the book, the binding is falling...
