James I. Steel autobiography and family records
Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography with family records apparently also copied by Steel. James Steel converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854. He later settled in Tooele County, Utah. Steel entered into polygamy in 1874. Also included are ordinations and patriarchal blessings of family members. Steel also writes about his visions and dreams.

Louisa Hasler writes about her conversion to the Mormon Church; her association with her brother-in-law, Hans Ulrich Winkler; her migration to Utah; and her life in Mt. Pleasant. Also included is a typed autobiography of Louisa's husband, John Hasler. John writes about his association with Hans Ulrich Winkler, his conversion to the Mormon Church, his migration to Utah, and his life in Mt. Pleasant.

Typescript of a biography of James Guyman. The date of the composition of the item is uncertain. Guyman was an early convert to the Mormon Church who migrated to Utah and eventually settled in Springville, Utah. He died in Fountain Green, Utah.
Jonathan Harriman Holmes diary
Photocopy of a typescript of a diary kept from 1846 to 1848. Holmes writes about enlisting in the Mormon Battalion, the march to Santa Fe and to California, being discharged from the service, and his travels to Sacramento, California, and to Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included is an obituary for Holmes, his account book, and biographies of Franklin Weaver and Sarah Elizabeth Holmes.
