Cornell Taylor Christensen diary

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary begun as an autobiography covering the years 1910-1931 and continuing as a diary from 1931 to 1936. It ends with a record of his struggle with tuberculosis which ended his life in 1936 at the age of 26. A letter to Christensen from his mother fills pages 167-176. It was written the morning of his death and describes various memories she had of him.

Don Searle

Scope and Contents Typewritten biography of Don Searle with handwritten corrections. Don was a native of Spanish Fork, Utah who attended Brigham Young University from 1935 to 1940. Don served in the Navy during World War II and worked as a broadcast journalist. He was killed in an automobile accident in 1946 before he turned 29 years old. Clark attended Brigham Young University with Searle and relates what student life was like at that institution in the 1930s.

Raymond P. Draper papers

Scope and Contents Typewritten essay composed for a family home evening group presentation, a talk for sacrament meeting, and a "personal expression." The items were written while Draper was living in the 76th Ward of Brigham Young University.

Foreword to a life story

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography of John L. Seymour who taught at Sacramento Junior College for 24 years, produced and directed many plays, composed operas and chamber music. He later moved to Cedar City, Utah after the death of his mother and established a memorial library for her at Southern Utah State College. He discusses the operas he wrote and describes his philosophy of life.

Edwin Smith Hinckley papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, speeches, reports, and biographies. These materials relate to Hinckley's work at Brigham Young University as a faculty member and on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, as superintendent of the Utah State Industrial School, and as secretary of the Provo Chamber of Commerce. The biographies are eulogies given by Hinckley's friends and associates.

Jennie Groberg interviews with Lafayette Hinckley Holbrook

Scope and Contents Typescript of an interview taken from the included cassette sound tapes. The interview was conducted by Jennie Groberg in 1964 and 1965. Holbrook talks about his ancestors, and his wife, Alsina Elizabeth Brimhall (1876-1960), whom he met at Brigham Young University and married in 1901. He talks about his education, his children, his occupations, and his missionary experiences with the Maori people of New Zealand.

Albert William Jones diaries and scrapbooks

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary and scrapbooks. Jones writes a biography of his father, Albert Jones (1839-1925), and then writes an autobiography of his own life up to the 1890s when his diary begins. The early entries are retrospective, and the actual diary begins some time later. Most entries are short and relate to activities in Provo, Utah. Also included are thirty nine scrapbooks, most of which start in the 1920s and are arranged by subject. These items consist largely of newspaper clippings...
