Collection includes photocopies of correspondence collected by Elmer Ewing written by Mormon pioneers. Includes the letters of Temperance Bond Mack, Christeen Golden Kimball, and Nathan Calhoun Cheney describing their travels to Salt Lake City and other events in Mormon history. One letter by Cheney also includes a description of events surrounding the death of Joseph Smith.

Scope and Contents Typewritten biography of Stephen Bliss Moore and his wife, Eleanor Colton Moore. Stephen and Eleanor were Mormon pioneers who married in 1857. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, near the "Indian Farm" by Spanish Fork, Utah, at the Tintic Mining district near Eureka, Utah, and near Provo, Utah. They had encounters with Ute Indians. John Van Cott papers

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, diaries, and a family history. The correspondence is between Van Cott and family members. Also included are handwritten and signed letters from Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church, to Van Cott. The diaries cover the time when Van Cott served as a missionary for the Mormon Church from 1852 to 1856 and from 1859 to 1862. He was in Iowa City, Iowa, when the first handcart companies left for Utah.
