James I. Steel autobiography and family records

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography with family records apparently also copied by Steel. James Steel converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854. He later settled in Tooele County, Utah. Steel entered into polygamy in 1874. Also included are ordinations and patriarchal blessings of family members. Steel also writes about his visions and dreams.

Seth Millington Blair diary and autobiography

Scope and Contents Typescript of an autobiography. Blair writes about his parents, his joining of the Mormon Church, his migration to Utah, his mission to Texas for the Mormon Church, and his life in Salt Lake City, Utah. He includes patriarchal blessings of family members. There are many gaps in the diary.

Scope and Contents Contains correspondence, patriarchal blessings, financial records, militia records, photographs, and miscellaneous items. Much of the correspondence is between Dame and General Authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The material relates to Dame's life and activities, including his militia service and his connection to the Mountain Meadows Massacre in 1857.

Thomas Day autobiographies

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography and a photocopy of the item. Also included is a typescript of an autobiography. The handwritten manuscript is a running account similar to a diary but is seldom broken down into daily entries. Day writes about joining the Mormon Church in England and his migration to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and later to Utah. He lived in Salt Lake Valley, Spanish Fork, and Circle Valley, Utah. He participated in the Salmon River Mission for the Mormon Church in Idaho.

Scope and Contents Diaries. Also with the collection are letters received by Fletcher from various residents of Provo, Utah, including Samuel S. Jones, mayor of the town. Also included is business account books of Charles D. Miller, materials related to the Perpetual Emigration Fund of the Mormon Church, and some Mormon patriarchal blessings.

Robert Hazen diary and partriarchal blessings

Overview The collection contains a handwritten diary covering the years 1853 to 1855 and typed copies of patriarchal blessings of Hazen family members. Hazen writes about his conversion to Mormonism in England, his calling as a branch president in that faith, his marriage to Mary Ann Bainbridge, and his emigration to the United States. Also included are handwitten copies of songs and poems.

Ann Prior Jarvis diary and autobiography

Scope and Contents Typewritten copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. The autobiography was written in 1884 and tells of Jarvis' early life in England, her migration to Utah, and her move to St. George. Jarvis' diary covers the years 1884 to 1898. There are many gaps. She writes about the weather and her daily activities. Also included are patriarchal blessings of family members dating from 1875 to 1881. Most of them were given by William G. Perkins.

John Murdock autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents Typescripts of a diary and an abridgement of diaries for the years from 1830 to 1859 and 1832. Murdock joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830 and lived in Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and Salt Lake City, Utah. He had numerous assignments for the Church and migrated to Utah in 1847. He participated in Zion's Camp in 1834 and went on a mission to Australia from 1852 to 1853.

David Pettigrew autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography and diary with a typescript of the item. Pettigrew (apparently also spelled Pettegrew) started his autobiography in 1840. His diary is sporatic and has many gaps.
