Scope and Contents Photocopy of a typewritten history. The item states: "voyage of Ester Stevenson Grange and parents on the ship 'Martha Siddon,' told by Albert Collard, a boy passanger, 1855." Collard relates the conditions and hardships of a group of migrating Mormons. The voyage took place aboard the ship, "Martha Siddon."

Joseph Fish typescripts of histories and diaries

Scope and Contents The Fish diaries cover his life from the 1840s to 1926. His histories of Arizona and his series on Pioneers of the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Region cover aspects of western history from 1500-1905. David Moore diary, autobiography, and history

Scope and Contents Typewritten copies of diaries, an autobiography, and a history. The diaries include an "Abridged History of the Salmon River Mission" which is Moore's journal for 1855 when he was serving in the mission. Also included are "Items of History" which tells about the early settlements in Weber County, Utah, and an autobiography to the year 1849 when Moore's diary begins.

Silas LeRoy Richards diary and family histories

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography and diary, family histories, genealogies, patriarchal blessings, and mementos. Much of the material relates to the history and genealogies of the Richards, Rhead (Reed), Stanley, and Huffman (Hoffman) families. Silas was born in Union and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He held several jobs and served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1902 to 1905.

Edith Scott histories

Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten and typewritten genealogies, histories, biographies, and diaries. Most of the materials relate to Mormons in Emmett, Gem County, Idaho. Also included are diaries by James Smithies (1807-1879) and John Scott (1811-1876). Smithies' diary covers the years from 1846 to 1847 when he migrated to Utah. Scott's diary covers the years from 1855 to 1856 when he was serving on a mission in Great Britain for the Mormon Church.

Abstract Collection of papers by or about Robert Hodgson Skelton. Included in the collection is Skelton's journal from his mission to India, plus a photocopy and transcription of the same. Also includes a petition for assistance to the people of Santa Cruz, California, by Skelton and other Mormon missionaries traveling to their missions without purse or scrip.

John Van Cott papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, diaries, and a family history. The correspondence is between Van Cott and family members. Also included are handwritten and signed letters from Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church, to Van Cott. The diaries cover the time when Van Cott served as a missionary for the Mormon Church from 1852 to 1856 and from 1859 to 1862. He was in Iowa City, Iowa, when the first handcart companies left for Utah.
