The first folder of the collection holds a photocopy and typescript of the original manuscript; the second holds 5 pages of the original manuscript (the first two and the last three) that were detached from the original and were in brittle condition; and the third folder holds a box containing the original manuscript, which measures 23 x 14.5 cm and has approximately 50 pages, written on both sides. Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biogaphy of Catherine Cunningham Adams. Adams was born in Scotland in 1838, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and migrated to Utah with the ill-fated Willie handcart company in 1856. She married, had 11 children, and died in 1912.

A sketch of the life of Susan Hammond Ashby Noble

Handwritten biography and a letter. Badger writes a biography of her mother, Susan Hammond Ashby Noble (1808-1851). Susan Noble was a convert to the Mormon Church by Erastus Snow, lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and migrated to Utah in 1848. Also included is a letter from a "Maria" to her mother in 1857.

Azariah Smith autobiography and diaries

Scope and Contents
Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Smith was born in New York in 1828 and joined the Mormon Church in 1839. He moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1840. He kept a diary during his service with the "Mormon Battalion" during the War with Mexico from 1846 to 1848. Smith married in 1850 and moved to Sanpete Valley in 1850. He lived in Manti, Utah, and wrote about his activities and experiences there.

Photocopy of a handwritten diary. Smith writes of his early life until he started his diary in 1846. He tells about his experiences in the Mormon Battalion and the discovery of gold in California in 1848. Smith also writes about his coming to Utah and his life in Manti, Utah. He also relates incidents in the Black Hawk War when the whites fought the Ute Indians. There are many gaps.
