John Henry Hayes autobiography

Handwritten autobiography with a photocopy of the item. The item was written as an autobiography with yearly summaries of activities. Hayes migrated to Utah in 1862 and lived in Spanish Fork, Utah, during the Black Hawk War with the Ute Indians. Hayes was a Mormon polygamist, served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, and lived in numerous places and had numerous occupations in Utah.

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries, an autobiography, and correspondence. Jones wrote his autobiography in 1881. Jones served in the Utah Militia during the Black Hawk War and had numerous occupations and positions in the Mormon Church. His diaries start in 1884 when he was called to serve on a mission for the Mormon Church in England. Many entries are lengthy and detailed. Job Smith autobiography and letters received

Typewritten autobiography and photocopies of handwritten letters received by Smith. Also included are typescripts of Job Smith's "Recollections" of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), and photocopies of handwritten and typewritten certificates. The letters are from prminent Mormon Church leaders. Also included is a photocopy of a handwritten patriarchal blessing received by Smith.
