Robert A. Holmes letters

Scope and Contents Handwritten letters all dated within 1911. One was addrssed to George H. Brimhall, president of Brigham Young University, while the other two were addressed to the editor of the "Improvement Era," a Mormon Church publication. Holmes speculates on the geography of the Book of Mormon and criticises the theories of B. H. Roberts, the Mormon scholar.

Alonzo H. Raleigh autobiography and letter

Scope and Contents Collection includes the typescript of an autobiography of Alonzo (6 p.). Also, typescript of a letter written by Alonzo on 29 October 1843 from Nauvoo, Illinois, to his father-in-law, John Taber (or Tabor), in Alfred, Maine. The two-page letter details the recent death of Alonzo's wife and Taber/Tabor's daughter, Mary Ann Taber/Tabor (b. 16 April 1822 in North Brewer, York, Maine).
