Biographies
Photocopies of typewritten biographies of Henry Bailey Jacobs and Zina Diantha Huntington Young, along with photocopies of typed and handwritten letters. The items, which relate to family matters and marriage relationships, include a letter from the LDS Historical Department regarding the marriages of Zina to Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, and a letter from the U.S. Customs Court in New York denying the existence of any records relating to a divorce between Henry and Zina.

John Van Cott papers
Correspondence, diaries, and a family history. The correspondence is between Van Cott and family members. Also included are handwritten and signed letters from Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church, to Van Cott. The diaries cover the time when Van Cott served as a missionary for the Mormon Church from 1852 to 1856 and from 1859 to 1862. He was in Iowa City, Iowa, when the first handcart companies left for Utah.
Brigham Young letter
Letter from Brigham Young, Richardson Point, Camp of Israel, to his wife, Harriott Cook, Nauvoo, Illinois, 15 March 1846. Nauvoo looks like a prison to him, so he will continue West. Joseph B. Noble is to bring her over. Asks her to go visit Mary and Margaret Pears. Desires to see her and "the little boys." They are feeling happy in the camp. Edwin Little has been sick. They plan to move from their current position on next Wednesday.
Brigham Young letter
Photocopy of a handwritten letter. The item is dated March 4, 1858 and is addressed to Lewis Brunson (1831-1888), bishop for the Mormon Church in Fillmore, Utah. The letter is an authorization by Young for Brunson to give "Brother Robb" livestock in repayment of a loan he had given to the Mormon Church in Liverpool, England for the purpose of emigration.

Handwritten and signed letter dated March 25, 1846 and addressed to Harriet Cook Young, one of Brigham Young's wives. Brigham Young writes about the prospects of the Mormons migrating to the West.
Brigham Young letter to Oscar B. Young
Photographs of a handwritten and signed letter which was composed in Provo, Utah, dated February 27, 1868, and addressed to Oscar B. Young. Brigham gives his impressions of Provo, advises Oscar on Indian problems the Mormon settlers had along the "Muddy River," and comments on politics.
