John A. Blythe journal

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of typescript. Describes his trip from Salt Lake City to the site of Joseph City and daily life in the United Order in that town. The diary also discusses the author's departure on a supply trip to Salt Lake City and concludes with his arrival in St. George, Utah en route.

A one-page autobiographical sketch entitled "History of John A. Blythe, From his birth to Feb. 3rd, 1876" is also included.

William Decatur Kartchner autobiography

Handwritten autobiography. Kartchner writes about his early life in Pennsylvania; joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1843 and subsequently moving to Nauvoo, Illinois; and his migration to Utah in 1847. He lived in serveral places in Utah and settled in Arizona. Also included is a partriarchal blessing for Etta Kartchner.

Price W. Nelson journal and autobiography

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typescript. The item is an autobiography of Price W. Nelson. The account is largely retrospective even though much of it is written like diary entries. Also included is a diary to Nelson dated 5 Aug. 1935. Nelson writes about his birth in California in 1855, his journey to Utah in 1857. He also settled in Franklin, Idaho, in 1859 and moved to Logan, Utah, in 1864. He later moved to Glendale, Utah. He gives information on the Utah Expedition, 1857-1858, his work on the St. George and Manti temples, his mission for the Mormon Church in Missouri, and his daily life in Utah.
