An alphabetical title index to the Capitol Records Company archives of music manuscripts

Scope and Contents Forms and a typewritten draft of a published manuscript. The index was produced by the Division of Archives and Manuscripts at the Harold B. Lee Library of Brigham Young University starting in 1970 and was bound as a five-volume reference work in 1978.

Ward Baker letters

Scope and Contents Two handwritten and signed letters dated 29 April and 19 June 1951, and addressed to "Dear Bishop" and "Dear Mr. Cannon." Baker requests that someone listen to his music and make it available to Mormons.

Scope and Contents Collection includes mixed materials such as scrapbooks, correspondence, cards, oral histories, cassette tapes, notes, articles, photographs, publications, and various other items. The contents of this collection appear to be oriented primarily around the life of Amelia Madsen Beecher, however there are several references to her mother, Abigal Rees Madsen, her father, Roland Adolph Madsen, and her husband, Asa L. Beecher.

Emma Lucy Gates Bowen papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, concert programs, music scores, and miscellaneous items. Includes correspondence of Bowen when she was in Germany as an opera singer from 1898 to 1914 and later when she was a voice and music teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included are letters from her husband, Albert E. Bowen from 1897 to 1923 and Lucy's agent, Catherine A. Bowman. Some of the materials relate to the Lucy Gates Opera Company.

Mortimer Browning papers and music manuscripts

Also included are correspondence with Browning's wife, Pauline, and his son, Richard, while Browning served overseas during World War II from 1942 to 1945. Scope and Contents Handwritten and bound manuscript in French entitled "LES FOLIES D'UN PENSEUR" (The Foolishness of a Thinker). The item contains various writings on philosophical topics such as the process by which authors are inspired, and how men come to worship God. It also contains some thoughts on the human condition. Scope and Contents 28 volumes of handwritten diaries including typewritten summaries and typewritten copies of the diaries of Joseph H. Dean, Harry A. Dean's father. Scrapbooks, 298 items of correspondence, musical compositions, certificates, programs, autobiographies, and miscellaneous materials. The collection relate to Dean's teaching career and his interest in music including his translation of the Mormon hymnal into Samoan.
