Contains minute books, ledgers, balance books, cash books, blotter books, stock certificate books, and letter press books. The materials document operations of the First National Bank of Provo, the Provo Commercial and Savings Bank, and the Ogden State Bank. Collection includes stock certificates for John Taylor, Reed Smoot, Erastus Snow, George Q. Cannon, A. O. Smoot, and others. Also includes notes and letters of Reed Smoot, Warren Dusenberry, and others. 131 v.

Lorin Farr papers

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a letter dated September 16, 1850 and addressed to Brigham Young, president of the Mormon Church, requesting advice concerning the shooting of Terikee, a Shoshoni Indian, by a Mormon. He was murdered near the city of Ogden. Also included is an autobiographical sketch dated 1860 containing information on Farr's life, occupation, and church service.

Charles Whipple Hadley diary and correspondence

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary and correspondence. The letters relate primarily to business and family matters. Also included are materials relating to astrology and horoscopes. The diary was kept from 1861 to 1862 when Hadley was serving with the Iowa Volunteers. His accounts are often vivid and detailed. He writes about army life and actual combat. John Peter Johnson papers

Scope and Contents

Handwritten correspondence, diaries, notebooks, patriarchal blessings, certificates, an autobiography, and genealogical materials. The correspondence are between Johnson and his wife, Hana, and were written while Johnson was on a mission for the Mormon Church in Sweden. The diaries were kept while Johnson was on his mission and after his return to Ogden, Utah. The certificates deal with Johnson's numerous callings in the Mormon Church.

Collection includes holographs, typescripts, bound volumes, printed materials (some photocopies), and microfilm. Includes correspondence, a journal (1909-1910), an oral history interview (1973), and personal writings with associated research materials relating to Murphy's activity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly events in Hawaii where Murphy served as a missionary and president of the Hawaiian Mission and temple.

Earl Stanley Paul diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries kept in 10 volumes from 1912 to 1979. There are many gaps. Paul writes about his mission to Samoa from 1912 to 1916, his service in the United States Army from 1918 to 1919 in France, his marriage, Mormon church activities, and his second mission to Samoa. He also includes autobiographical materials with the diary entries. Also included area typewritten autobiography, a family history, a volume of miscellaneous correspondence and certificates, and drafts of his writings....
