Job Smith autobiography and letters received
Typewritten autobiography and photocopies of handwritten letters received by Smith. Also included are typescripts of Job Smith's "Recollections" of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), and photocopies of handwritten and typewritten certificates. The letters are from prminent Mormon Church leaders. Also included is a photocopy of a handwritten patriarchal blessing received by Smith.
John Smith letter
Handwritten letter signed by John Smith which was addressed to "Dear Chitenen" and dated 15 Dec. 1851. The item tells about the potato harvest, expresses concern about the cow which has nothing to eat, and includes a request to see the children.
T. P. Thomas letter
Handwritten and signed letter, dated 7 March 1876, and addressed to Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church. Thomas writes concerning the Nineteenth Ward of the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.
John M. Young papers
Account books, receipts, correspondence, certificates, newspaper clippings, genealogies, autograph book, land deeds and indetures, legal writs, photographs, and patriarchal blessings. The materials relate to business and legal activities. Also included are anti-Mormon newspaper clippings from England. Many of the items were produced by Young's sister, Lydia Young Merrill.
