Also included is a photostat copy of a handwritten list of passangers on the William Tapscott in 1859. The Mormons on the ship later formed the George Rowley handcart company which emigrated to Utah in 1859. Scope and Contents

Autobiographies, official correspondence, newspaper clippings, certificates, and miscellaneous items. These materials document the life and civic and church careers of Brewster. They include letters from prominent Utah politicians and newsletters Brewster sent to members of his ward who were in the U.S. military forces during World War II.

Susan Elizabeth Redd Butler papers

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, autobiographies, diaries, biographies, newspaper clippings, and school compositions. The correspondence, biographies, and diaries relate to Susan's family and parents. Many of the items relate to Mormon polygamy and to Butler's school career. Also included is a biography and biographical materials of Butler's father, Lemuel Hardison Redd.

James Franklin Carroll autobiography

Scope and Contents

Typed copy of an autobiography in eight pages. Carroll lived in Heber City, Orderville, Grayson, Blanding, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He also lived for several years in Mexico. Also included is a photocopy of a handwritten letter to his children in which Carroll states his faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The dates of the composition of these items are uncertain.

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiographies, diaries, correspondence, patriarchal blessings, and miscellaneous materials. Typescripts and photocopies of many of these items are also found with the collection. Some of the materials have been bound into books. The collection relates primarily to Joab Collier (1855-1918) and Theodocia Keeler Collier (1858-1912). The Colliers were Mormons who lived in Provo, Vernal, and in Salt Lake City, Utah. Handwritten autobiography, a newsclipping about Aaron Johnson Sr. (1806-1877), a handwritten copy of the senior Johnson's biography by his daughter, Marilla Lucretia Johnson Miller, and handwritten copies of correspondence on the Johnson family genealogy. This correspondence consists of letters from Stephen Johnson, brother of Aaron Johnson Sr., and also from Frank L. Johnson and W.E. Johnson, distant cousins of Aaron Johnson Jr. All items are photocopies.

Nye writes about his birth in England, his immigration to Australia, his joining the Mormon Church, and his subsequent migration to Utah from 1859 to 1860 where he settled in Ogden.
