Handwritten diaries, an autobiography, and correspondence. Jones wrote his autobiography in 1881. Jones served in the Utah Militia during the Black Hawk War and had numerous occupations and positions in the Mormon Church. His diaries start in 1884 when he was called to serve on a mission for the Mormon Church in England. Many entries are lengthy and detailed. Scope and Contents
Handwritten diaries recorded while Patterson was on a mission for the Mormon Church in England, 1889-1891. Author describes his daily activities and church assignments. Also included are photocopies of two letters in which Patterson tells about his voyage from Liverpool, England, to New York in 1862. Photocopy of diaries also included.
