A. S. Balestier letter
Handwritten letter dated 6 Aug. 1895 and addressed to H. B. Tedrow, an autograph collector in Omaha, Nebraska. Balestier writes that Rudyard Kipling will return to Vermont in September and will only give his autograph to those who first contribute $2.50 to "The Tribune Fresh Air Fund" of New York.
Delbert Barney correspondence
Photocopies of Delbert Barney's correspondence with government and ecclesiastical officials. He describes an eye-witness account of the "transfiguration" of the Mormon Church President Brigham Young into the likeness of Joseph Smith in 1844 and discusses Blacks and the Mormon priesthood.
Emery F. Barrus letters and diary
Nine handwritten letters and 6 pages of Elder Emery F. Barrus' journal kept while he served as a missionary for the Mormon Church in the Southern States Mission in 1899. Letters and journal describe both Barrus' travels and attempts to preach the restored gospel, primarily to people of Tennessee and Missouri. Both letters and journal pages are photocopied for patron use. Also included are the funerary program and a newspaper obituary of Ruth Hammond Barrus.
Irene M. Bates papers
Contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, certificates, speeches, essays, and periodicals. Much of the materials deal with Bates's historical studies and writings, including the production of the film Reflections. Also included is an autobiographical sketch by Edward Wootton, Bates's father. Materials date from between 1958 and 1981.
Henry Baxter letters and reports
Handwritten letters and reports. Forty-four of the items deal with Baxter's activities during the Civil War. Many of them were written by Baxter and by other participants. They deal with a wide range of military matters including the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863 and the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864. Also included is official and family correspondence kept while Baxter was in Honduras.
George E. Bean correspondence
Handwritten and typewritten correspondence. The materials relate to the controversy which ended in the dismissal of Mr. Bean as city manager of San Diego.
Beard, Collins, Fisher and Weaver families of Illinois and Ohio papers
Handwritten letters, family histories, genealogies, deeds, wills, cash receipts, statements, mementoes, and a draft exemption of Joseph Weaver. The materials were created by the Beard, Collins, Fisher, and Weaver families of Illinois and Ohio. Joseph Weaver was exempted from the draft during the American Civil War because he was able to get a substitute. This Joseph Weaver may have been Joseph Myrtle Weaver (1832-1913), an American author.
Princess Beatrice letter
Handwritten and signed letter dated 13 February 1937. The document is addressed from Kensington Palace and relates the princess' feeling on the Building of the King George IV Memorial Nurses' House.
Evelyn Brady Beck letters to Leota Brady Winkler
Contains handwritten and signed letters addressed to Evelyn's older sister, Leota Brady Winkler, who was living in Tooele, Utah, from 1972-2005. Evelyn wrote about family members and events.
