Rosy Antle diary

Photocopied from the typescript of Rosy's diary, this collection consists of a daily account of the affairs, difficulties, deaths, and friendships of the people in a wagon train during the 1860's. She is specific as to time and distance travelled, tolls paid for the passage of the wagon, the weather, and her health, commenting frequently about the heat and that she had a "sick headache."

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Alice Tomlison was born in 1857 in England. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she migrated to Utah and settled in American Fork. She married Joseph Armstrong in 1871 and died in 1941.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. John Armstrong was born in England in 1848. His family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1853 and later settled in American Fork. He married Mary Helen Wilson. Mary Wilson was born in 1848 in Philadelphia, and she died in 1919. He died in 1940.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Joseph H. Armstrong was born in England in 1850. His family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1853. They suffered many harships on the way. The family settled in American Fork, Utah, in 1862. He was a carpenter and a farmer, and he died in 1933.

James Lindsay papers

Handwritten histories, a newspaper clipping, a biography of Agnes Watson Lindsay (1852-1940), and an autobiography of James Lindsay (1849-1938). James Lindsay was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Scotland. He migrated to Utah in 1862; settled in Heber City, Utah; and participated in the Black Hawk War against the Ute Indians. Some of the materials relate to the mail service in Heber City.

Charles Atchison letter book

Scope and Contents

Holograph copies of letters and memorandums regarding the post, its supplies, equipment, muster roll and personnel. Includes opinions of Atchison and his evaluation of the surrounding area. Also included is a photocpy of a newspaper article by James M. Barney that appeared in the Phoenix Gazette on December 6, 1958 which gives a history of Fort Mojave.
