Thomas Day autobiographies

Handwritten autobiography and a photocopy of the item. Also included is a typescript of an autobiography. The handwritten manuscript is a running account similar to a diary but is seldom broken down into daily entries. Day writes about joining the Mormon Church in England and his migration to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and later to Utah. He lived in Salt Lake Valley, Spanish Fork, and Circle Valley, Utah. He participated in the Salmon River Mission for the Mormon Church in Idaho.

Thomas Durham autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents Typewritten copy of an autobiography and diary. Durham wrote his autobiography in 1854 and started his diary the same year. The journal is sketchy in many places and has many gaps. Durham wrote about his youth in England, his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his mission in England, his spiritual manifestations, blessings, and his migration to Utah. Biography : Elizabeth Jane Ginger Durrant

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Elizabeth Ginger was born in 1853 in England. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1868. She married John Durrant in 1869 and had 10 children. She died in 1932. Even though Ella Durrant is listed as the author, this item is an autobiography of Elizabeth.

Esaias Edwards autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography and diary. The account is retrospective until 1856. Edwards writes extensively about his conversion to the Mormon Church in 1839, life at Nauvoo, Illinois, and the death of two of his wives. There is a lengthy discussion in the opening pages of the diary about astronomy and a family cooperative city, "Edwardsville," which he hoped to build. Includes mention of Brigham Young; plural marriage; Corinne, Utah; and several other topics. Some characters and words are difficult to read in this multi-generation photocopy.
