Rachel Calder Ashworth family papers and histories contains family histories, biographies, autobiographies, family records, pedigrees and photographs of her pioneer ancestors and their families, many of whom were in Vernal, Utah. James I. Steel autobiography and family records

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography with family records apparently also copied by Steel. James Steel converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854. He later settled in Tooele County, Utah. Steel entered into polygamy in 1874. Also included are ordinations and patriarchal blessings of family members. Steel also writes about his visions and dreams.

Esaias Edwards autobiography and diary

Edwards writes extensively about his conversion to the Mormon Church in 1839, life at Nauvoo, Illinois, and the death of two of his wives. Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Gallup writes about his early life in Connecticut, his migration to Iowa, and how he joined the Mormon Church. Gallup moved to Springville, Utah, in 1851. He writes about his life in that town, his service during the Utah Expedition of 1857-8, his relationships to his wives, his mission for the Mormon Church to Connecticut. Gallup moved to Santa Ana, California, in 1888.
