Rosy Antle diary

Scope and Contents

Photocopied from the typescript of Rosy's diary, this collection consists of a daily account of the affairs, difficulties, deaths, and friendships of the people in a wagon train during the 1860's. She is specific as to time and distance travelled, tolls paid for the passage of the wagon, the weather, and her health, commenting frequently about the heat and that she had a "sick headache."

Thomas Ashment journal

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of a handwritten journal. Ashment was a convert to the Mormon Church from England having been baptized in 1848. He migrated to Utah in 1869 and settled in Richmond, Utah. Ashment writes about his daily activities and about his experiences. Also included are notes about his children and their activities.

William Frank Atkin papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, diaries, and a biography. The diaries relate to Atkin's missions to New Zealand from 1903 to 1906 and from 1916 to 1918. The correspondence is from family members and friends and largely relates to family matters and to Atkin's missionary activities. The biography is a history of Atkin's father, Thomas Atkin (1833-1919), who was a Mormon pioneer that was active in Tooele County politics. William Snow autobiography

Scope and Contents

Handwritten autobiographical materials. Snow writes about his early life in Vermont, conversion to the Mormon Church, and missionary work. Some genealogy and patriarchal blessings are included. Snow made the overland journey by ox team from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Salt Lake City in 1850. He writes of numerous deaths from cholera, problems with company discipline, and travelling conditions.
