David C. Collier autobiography and letters

Scope and Contents Typewritten autobiograpy and typewritten letters sent by Collier. The autobiography includes information on the early history of Colorado, its mining industry, and an account of Collier's activities as a public official and as a newspaper editor. Also included are a series of Collier's letters for publication in the Central City Miner's register written from 1863 to 1873.

Scope and Contents Typewritten copies of letters written between 1864 and 1868. The volume is entitled: "Letters Sent During Mountain & Colorado Trips." Also included is a typewritten autobiography entitled: "The Man of the Mountains: The Life of David C. Collier." The author is listed as "An Old-Timer" who is believed to be Collier himself.

Gandy criticises the accuracy of David Karsner's book "Silver Dollar: The Story of the Tabors."
