Typescript and galley proofs of a book "compiled, edited and analyzed by Lt. Colonel William R. Dunn." The item includes maps and an index. Dunn argues that Colonel Chivington and the Colorado Calvary were justified in killing the Indians at the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.

Handwritten, printed, and signed documents concerning the travels of Thomas P. Shrock. The materials include two handwritten maps of eastern Mexico in 1850 made while Shrock was returning from the gold fields in California; a guarantee of safe conduct through Colorado in 1861 signed by William Gilpin, governor of Colorado; and a loyalty oath to the United States in 1861 signed by C. R. Jennison, Kansas Cavalry.

Scope and Contents

Holograph letter to "Sam" by Slason dated 1902. In this missive, Slason talks about his research that went into his book "Eugene Field: a Study in Heredity and Contradictions" which was published in 1901. Also included is a carbon copy of an unsigned letter to "Thompson." The writer of the missive was a Denver newspaperman and author whose penname was "Old Farmer." The item is largely about the newspaper work of its author.
