Joseph Hatten Carpenter diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries, notes, account books, correspondence, and a translation of the Book of Mormon into the Samoan language. Carpenter writes about his mission for the Mormon Church in Samoa and about his activities as a resident of Manti. Late in life, Carpenter moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included is a printed copy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Carpenter also writes about his early life and his travels to northern Germany and France in 1884 and 1885.

Alma Helaman Hale papers

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries from 1889 to 1890 and 1909, notebooks, autobiographies, and notes. The diary was kept while Hale served on a mission for the Mormon Church in Great Britain and Ireland. The notebooks were kept while Hale was attending the University of Deseret.

William H. Homer research papers

Scope and Contents Collection includes handwritten and typewritten research notes, articles, genealogies, diaries, and biographies. Also included is Homer family correspondence. The family members lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The notes relate to Homer's research on Martin Harris (1783-1875). Also included is a diary Homer's father, William Harrison Homer, Sr., kept while he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England from 1867 to 1868.

B. Asael Johnson notes

Scope and Contents Handwritten notes probably kept sometime around 1901. The collection includes a handwritten copy of "A Rarotongan Vobaculary with English Renderings" by M. W. Davis parts one, two, and three in two notebooks, two notebooks on the Rarotongan vocabulary, and a missionary handbook giving standard Mormon Church ordinances in English and Rarotongan. The materials were created to aid Mormon missionary work in Rarotonga.
