Recordings of addresses given by leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other persons at Brigham Young University and in other settings, including: Department of Education meetings, 1954-1955; "Faith in Action" series aired on NBC Radio, 1950s; Church stake and ward meetings; and other forums. Among the speakers are Heber J. Grant, Harold B. Lee, Ezra Taft Benson, Hugh B. Brown, Joseph Fielding Smith, J. Reuben Clark Jr., David O. McKay, and Henry D. Moyle.

Contains reel-to-reel tapes of speeches, lectures, and devotionals held at Brigham Young University between 1944 and 1964. The bulk of the materials are from 1946 and 1948. Lecturers include prominent Mormon leaders and professors.

Abstract

This collection contains materials used by James R. Clark in writing the six volumes of Messages of the First Presidency. The material covers the years 1824 -1984. It also contains several drafts of each of the volumes.

Contains the personal oral histories of West, recorded between 1950 and 1959 on twelve Mylar reels and eighteen audiocassettes. Includes details about his time with the Department of Education of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Contains audio tapes and cassette tapes from recorded Hugh Nibley lectures. Lectures pertain to Nibley's thoughts on specific scriptures, ancient history of Egypt and Jerusalem's religions, cosmology, principles of knowledge, ordinances, and other related topics. The lectures are addressed to Nibley's family and close colleagues, as well as missionary groups and other church members.

Collection contains books written by Wilford E. Smith on both his life and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, scrapbooks of his wedding, war service and other greetings' correspondence, magazines, newsclippings, and other materials concerning his time as a mission president in Fiji, and reel to reel tapes of trips taken by Wilford E. and Ruth Smith. Materials date from between 1934 and 2000.

Scope and Contents

Conference held at the Osaka Mainichi Hall, Japan. Contains addresses concerning "The Mormon Church in Japan," and "The Book of Mormon" and "The Conversion of Brother Aki." Speakers include Brother Tokiichih Yanagida, Katayama Okamachi, President Paul C. Andrus, and Sister & Brother Peterson. Also includes a postcard written in Japanese conji with a photograph of two women and LDS missionary.
