The materials document the life and career of Card including her affiliation with Brigham Young Academy, the Mormon Church, and various civic organizations. The items also relate to the towns of Cardston, Alberta; Logan, Utah; and Provo, Utah. Also included is correspondence with various Mormon Church leaders and that of her husband, Charles O. Card.

Joseph Hatten Carpenter diaries

Scope and Contents

Handwritten diaries, notes, account books, correspondence, and a translation of the Book of Mormon into the Samoan language. Carpenter writes about his mission for the Mormon Church in Samoa and about his activities as a resident of Manti. Late in life, Carpenter moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included is a printed copy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Carpenter also writes about his early life and his travels to northern Germany and France in 1884 and 1885.

William Carter ledger

Scope and Contents Materials include a single ledger used by William Carter as president of the committee responsible for digging the Virgin Ditch in St. George, Utah, dating from 1864-1868. Includes minutes of meetings and an account ledger for labor and supplies used in building the ditch. Ledger was later used from 1888-1893 for meetings of a committee to build a duck pond, later called the St. George Fish Pond Company, for which Carter was president and which was on his property. John R. Nielson cash ledgers

Scope and Contents

Handwritten entries in cash ledgers and in a hotel register. Also included are handwritten notes and scriptural references. The financial records appear to have been created for the shoe store in Manti, Utah owned by John R. Nielson. The hotel register is for the Tuttle Hotel and includes autographs of many travelling theatrical and opera troupes. Also included are some correspondence and newspaper clippings in Danish.
