Scope and Contents

Typewritten copies of biographies and clippings relating to C. C. A. Christensen (1831-1912). Also included is an autobiography of Christensen that has been translated from the original Danish. Christensen is the most noted Mormon artist who documented much of the Mormon experience through his paintings. He also painted murals to decorate Mormon meeting houses and temples.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. John Williams Grant was born in Millcreek, Utah, in 1865. Most of the account was taken from Grant's own writings. He herded sheep in Colorado and became involved in a range war between sheep herders and cattlemen. John was shot at several times and was nearly killed. He sold his sheep when he returned to Utah. Autobiography, diaries, and Leithead family histories

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of printed versions of Leithead's autobiography and diaries. Also included are various histories and biographies of members of the Leithead family. James emigrated from Scotland to eastern Canada where he was introduced to the Mormon faith. He lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and accompanied the Mormons to Utah where he settled in Farmington and later in Glendale. He also lived for several years on the Muddy River in Nevada as part of Mormon attempts to settle there.
