Chronological history of Samuel Mulliner and his families

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a typewritten and handwritten family history. The handwritten sections are corrections to the text and photocopies of diary entries. Samuel Mulliner (1809-1891) was a convert to the Mormon Church. He was raised in Scotland, moved to Canada, and migrated to Utah in 1850. He had three wives and lived in Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Orderville, Utah.

The materials relate to the families of Benjamin Franklin Johnson, Utah poneer, Mormon polygamist, farmer, and secretary to the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith. Also included are a biography of Sarah Elizabeth Senior Johnson, daughter-in-law of Benjamin Johnson, and a book of poetry.

McClellan family histories

McClellan, member of the Mormon Battalion and of the Nauvoo Legion in Utah Valley, Utah, a biographical sketch of his wife, Almeda D. McClellan by Zitelle M. Snarr, and an autobiography of their son David A. McClellan Sr. which includes details of life in the Mormon colonies in Mexico and Arizona.

The item is an early draft of "Mormon Enigma" which length was later reduced as requested by the publisher, Doubleday & Company. The manuscript is a biography of Emma Hale Smith, first wife of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith.

Belinda Marden Pratt papers

Scope and Contents Letter to Belinda from her husband, Parley P. Pratt, written from San Francisco in January 1855, focusing on family concerns; and a fifteen-page autobiographical sketch written by her, dated 1884 on page one and 1889 on page eleven. Also includes an undated biographical sketch of Belinda written by Parker Pratt Robison, based on her autobiographical account. Her account discusses her conversion to Mormonism, church service, and marriage to Parley P. Pratt.

Testimony of Lizzie McKenzie, Dundee

Scope and Contents Typewritten biography of Margaret Campbell Wilson (1860-1924) by McKenzie which also tells about the Mormon Church in Scotland. Margaret was able to stay true to her Mormon faith despite many obstacles including the disapproval of her husband, William Wilson.
