Thomas Cresank letter

Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter written to "Dear Prinsep" on "Linden Grove Bayswater" stationary. Cresank writes that he would be delighted if Prinsep would come and dine with him on Feb. 5th. It is believed that Cresank may have had something to do with the literary circles of England.

Robert Graves letters

Scope and Contents

Handwritten and signed letters addressed to Rex Taylor. One item was typed. They were all written in Mallorca, Spain. Graves writes mainly about personal and family matters. He mentions that he considers "Sorley" (probably Charles Hamilton Sorely) to be the best poet of his generation whom he once met and about whom he once wrote a poem.

L. P. Hartley letter

Scope and Contents

Handwritten letter dated 8 Sept. 1941 and addressed to Norah Hoult (1901-1984), an Irish writer. Hartley had written a review of a novel "Smilin' on the Vine" by Hoult in which he was somewhat critical of the work. Hartley responds to a letter from Hoult and essentially concedes that some of his criticisms were overstated.
