Abstract These papers document Elian's life and career as a harp soloist from the 1910s onward, her year as a musician in Hollywood studio orchestras (1926-1954), and significantly her marriage (1936-1946) to film composer Max Steiner. Also covered is Elian's concert career as a member of symphony orchestras and ballet companies as well as soloist appearing worldwide (1950-1986).

Materials relate to the television series "Boots and Saddles" and motion pictures "The Conqueror," "The Searchers", "Timbuktu", and "MacKenna's Gold", as well as a 1956 expedition to Iran for a possible remake of the silent documentary "Grass". Television and film locations include some in Utah. Dated 1956-1969.
