Scope and Contents Contains recordings of the Screen Director's Playhouse radio program which ran from January 1949 through September 1951 on the NBC radio network. The programs were adaptations of noted motion pictures. The film directors served as guest hosts and spoke briefly about the program. Principal cast members of the motion pictures reprised their roles in the radio programs.

Tapes are both originals and transfers, and include Low and Slow, Spirit Doctors, 38th Street Gangs, Art and Color, and Mundo Milagroso. Also included are tapes of research material, concerning the Navajo Weavers and Guatemala. Materials range from approximately 1980-2002.
