Anthony Armstrong papers

Barton Orville Aylesworth correspondence

Scope and Contents Collection consists of letters to and from Aylesworth. They request biographical information from important literary and political figures in America roughly at the turn of the century. Also included are the replies to these petitions. The responses often contain some biographical information and lists of works published by the authors. It is likely that Aylewsorth's request were attempts to collect autographs of prominent individuals.

Emma Lucy Gates Bowen papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, concert programs, music scores, and miscellaneous items. Includes correspondence of Bowen when she was in Germany as an opera singer from 1898 to 1914 and later when she was a voice and music teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included are letters from her husband, Albert E. Bowen from 1897 to 1923 and Lucy's agent, Catherine A. Bowman. Some of the materials relate to the Lucy Gates Opera Company.

The second, dated 23 March 1956, relates gratitude for Horner's congratulations on his receipt of a C.B.E. A letter dated 6 November 1956 and written from Venice gives a detailed description of the advantages and disadvantages of the Hotel Regina, and relates news of Victor Cunard and Freya Stark. John Goddard papers

Scope and Contents Contains manuscripts, typescripts, transcripts, correspondence, photocopies, magazines, diary, and papers. Handwritten diaries, magazine articles, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and pamphlets. The diaries include accounts of Goddard's Congo expedition in 1956, his Nile expedition in 1951, and his South American expedition in 1962. The correspondence are between Goddard and his family relating his various activities.

Mary Jameson Judah letters received

Scope and Contents Handwritten letters to Judah from her spouse John, Henry B. Fuller, and Blanche Bates. Her husband's letters date from 1879-1880 while he was in the Rocky Mountains investigating mining investments, and discuss personal and business matters. The Fuller letters detail his future writing plans. The Blake Letter describes a theater production in Chicago. Also included are a certificate for five shares of Arena Publishing Company stock owned by Mary Judah and a death announcement for Lew Wallace.
