Nathan and Ruth Hale plays

This collection contains photocopies of printed musical and dramatic plays by Nathan Hale and his wife, Ruth Hale. They began writing plays during the Great Depression of the 1930s when their LDS Church ward did not have the funds to purchase royalties. The collection contains 46 plays, many of which have been published.

William F. Hanson papers

Indian opera productions composed by Hanson, musical scores, research material, and scrapbooks and photos based on ceremonies and music of the Ute Indians of Colorado and Utah. Operas included are: "Sun Dance," produced in New York City, 1938, "Bear Dance," and "The Bleeding Heart," a white man's fantasy of an imaginary Indian people who lived at the base of Mount Timpanogos in Utah.

Leander S. Harris poems

Collection includes two poems, one of which was written by Leander S. Harris in Brigham City, Utah on June 5, 1886. The other poem in incomplete, and appears to have been written by a friend of Harris's writing under the name "Gravel Poet". The poems describe the rail travel and courtship of their authors.

Nephi Chunn Hicks autobiography

Scope and Contents

Typewritten autobiography and a newspaper clipping. Hicks was unable to finish his autobiography due to illness. Hicks was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, delivered newspapers as a young man, and later worked as a newspaper editor in Provo, Utah. Also included is a newspaper clipping from 1971 outlining Hicks' career.
