Scope and Contents Collection consists primarily of notes for and drafts of Whipple's 1941 novel, The Giant Joshua, as well as for other short works such as The Golden Door, Arizona Strip, and Candle of the Lord. It also contains assorted magazine and newspaper clippings, periodicals, correspondence (including fan mail), audio and microfilm reels, personal and historical research, family history, and personal papers.

Scope and Contents This collection contains photographs covering the life of Maurine Whipple and the photos included in her books, "The Giant Joshua" and "This is the Place: Utah." It also includes photographs of Aspen Grove, Mt. Timpanogos, Zion National Park, St. George (Utah), De Mille Polygamy House, Bingham Copper Mine, Boston (Mass.), the Armed Service in Kearns (Utah), the St. George Temple and Tabernacle, the Salt Lake Temple and Tabernacle, and Joseph Smith.
