Ernest H. Burgess diary

Scope and Contents

Handwritten diary kept by Ernest Burgess and by his wife, Donna Miles Burgess. Ernest writes about his missionary experiences in Germany and about his life in Roosevelt, Utah. Donna Burgess continues the account of life in Roosevelt until 1959. Many of the entries are long and detailed, but there are many lengthy gaps in the record.

Giles writes about his daily activities in Provo, Utah; his two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawaii (1890-1897 and 1905-1907); his work at a lime kiln; his work on a railroad; and his teaching of Sunday School for the Church.

Alma Greenwood diary and scrapbook

Handwritten diary and scrapbook. The journal was kept from 1 Jan. to 31 Dec. 1883 when Greenwood was serving as a missionary in New Zealand. He reports on his daily activities in entries that are often lengthy and detailed. The scrapbook was created by Alma's wife, Florence Greenwood. It contains newspaper clippings from the 1880s that relate to Mormons, Utah, and to national happenings.

Diaries include mission labors in the Southern States for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Biographical sketches are about parents, relatives, and friends including Mary Jane Gardner Miller, James R. Miller, Frank J. Taylor, E. J. Winder, Robert Gardner, and Reuben Miller.

Earl Stanley Paul diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries kept in 10 volumes from 1912 to 1979. There are many gaps. Paul writes about his mission to Samoa from 1912 to 1916, his service in the United States Army from 1918 to 1919 in France, his marriage, Mormon church activities, and his second mission to Samoa. He also includes autobiographical materials with the diary entries. Silas LeRoy Richards diary and family histories

Scope and Contents

Handwritten autobiography and diary, family histories, genealogies, patriarchal blessings, and mementos. Much of the material relates to the history and genealogies of the Richards, Rhead (Reed), Stanley, and Huffman (Hoffman) families. Silas was born in Union and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He held several jobs and served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1902 to 1905.

There are many gaps in the entries including a sixteen-year gap from 1861 to 1877.
