Davis Bitton papers

Scope and Contents Contains items primarily created by or about Davis Bitton while a professor of history at the University of Utah and while Assistant Church Historian. Research notes from his many projects are included in the collection, as well as correspondence between him and his family members and other colleagues. Much of his life's work as church historian is included in this collection. Materials date from between 1834 and 2007.

Scope and Contents Handwritten dedication in French. The item was written to "Mesdames Cooke-Daniels et Martin" thanking them for being the benefactors of the students studying in Spiez, Switzerland, on the occasion of the French national holiday, 14 July 1917. The students are grateful for the kindnesses shown them and say they are becoming good Frenchmen, worthy of the valiant soldiers who are suffering and dying during World War I. Scope and Contents Material contains Reynolds's handwritten correspondence from 1912 to 1937; diaries from 1924 to 1925, 1934, and 1937; lecture notes on English literature and European history from 1894; and autobiographical and miscellaneous notes from 1935 to 1938. The materials document the various aspects of Reynolds's career and life. The diaries were kept largely when Reynolds was travelling in Europe and the Middle East.
