James Addison Bean diary

Handwritten diary. Bean writes about a trip to visit relatives in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. He preached the Mormon faith in a number of churches while on the trip. He also tells about troubles with travelling through snow in Wyoming.

Scope and Contents This collection contains one small black photo album. The album was made by John F. Bennett for Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Smith in the 1930s. It is similar to other albums put together by Bennett but is uniquely arranged with the Smiths in mind. Bennett used images created by several notable pioneer photographers such as William H. Jacob G. Bigler autobiography

Photocopy of a typescript of an autobiography. Bigler writes about his relationship with the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), his life in Nauvoo, Illinois, his migration to Utah, and his life in Nephi, Utah. Bigler served on a mission for the Mormon Church in Ireland and was active in Mormon Church activities in Nephi.

William Wallace Bilings diary

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. Bilings kept this diary while migrating to Utah to be with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bilings writes about his journey from July to September of 1864. He describes the traveling conditions, the weather, hardships, camp grounds, daily mileage, encounters with Indians, and deaths caused by illness. Bilings [Billings] later settled in Provo, Utah.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Harriet Wood was born in England in 1839. Her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois. They came to Utah in 1851 and settled in American Fork. She married William Walker Robinson and died in 1876.
