Joseph E. Rees scrapbook
Scrapbook which contains newspaper clippings and handwritten letters. The clippings contain information on current events in Utah, on Mormonism, and on Mormon Church doctrine. An edition of the "Elders Journal," apublication of the Southern States Mission, is also included.

Hugh T. Reid letter
Handwritten and signed letter serving as a receipt for $300.00 for legal services provided by Joseph Smith (1805-1844) against a charge of rioting and treason by the state of Illinois. The document is dated April 11, 1845.

Josiah Saville family organization
Photocopies of typewritten family histories, genealogies, patriarchal blessings, letters, certificates, and a diary. All materials relate to the family and descendants of Josiah Saville (1816-1903). Josiah was a convert to the Mormon Church in England who migrated to Utah in 1862. He lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. The diary is by James Wright Saville (1850-1912) and was kept for the year 1904 and writes about his daily activities probably in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Smith was the president of the Scandinavian Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1862 to 1864 and an early settler in Salt Lake City and in Parowan, Utah and in Snowflake, Arizona.
