John E. Bennion diaries

Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten diaries. Bennion writes about his life in the Taylorsville area of Utah and in Rush Valley and Long Valley, Utah. He also lived for a time in Nevada. Bennion was married polygamously, participated in the Utah War of 1857-1858, had an encounter with an Indian in 1858, saw the first handcart company arrive in Salt Lake City in 1856, served on a mission to England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and participated in many other activities.

Henry Green Boyle diaries

Scope and Contents Contains a handwritten autobiography and diaries related to Boyle's life and experience as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The autobiography was written beginning in 1844 and, in the same volume, he starts a diary in 1846. Boyle kept 14 additional volumes of diaries, dating from 1855 to 1889. James Stephens Brown diaries

Scope and Contents Typescript of diaries. Brown writes about his life in Ogden, Utah, and in Arizona. He also tells about his activities in the Mormon Church including his missions for that faith to England and Tahiti.

William Butler autobiographies and letters

John Claiborne Harper papers

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary, letters, certificates, paroles, and Mormon Church blessings. The diary was kept while Harper served on a mission to the Southern States for the Mormon Church from 1887 to 1888. Also included is an autograph book signed by Mormons in the Utah State prison for polygamy in 1889. The certificates and letters relate to Mormons in Mexico, to Harper's civic appointments in Payson, and to family matters. John Henry Hayes autobiography

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography with a photocopy of the item. The item was written as an autobiography with yearly summaries of activities. Hayes migrated to Utah in 1862 and lived in Spanish Fork, Utah, during the Black Hawk War with the Ute Indians. Hayes was a Mormon polygamist, served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England, and lived in numerous places and had numerous occupations in Utah.

Carl Otto Holm papers

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries, autobiographies, and a ledger. Also included are typescripts of some of the items. Holm writes about his life in Idaho, his mission for the Mormon Church in the Western States, his excommunication from the Mormon Church over a dissagreement on polygamy, and his family. With the materials are diaries of Holm's wife Victorina Holm in Sweden.

Ole Anderson Jensen autobiographies and diaries

Scope and Contents Photocopies of handwritten diaries. Jensen joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1859, served on a mission to Denmark, and immigrated to the United States in 1863. He was a polygamist who lived in Cache Valley, Utah, and in Star Valley, Wyoming. Also included is a biography of Alma L. Jensen by Annie Jensen Wickham.

Mads Jorgensen diaries and Letters

Identifier: MSS SC 2060
Scope and Contents Handwritten letters and a diary. Also included are typescripts of diaries. Some items are in Danish. Most of the materials were produced when Jorgensen was serving on a mission for the Mormon Church in Scandinavia. The letters were written to his wives. His diaries also cover the time he spent in prison for polygamy.
